IN PERSON EVENTS
In person events will be offered in regions throughout the state. The regional approach helps maximize the number of staff from each provider organization able to attend events and cultivate the regionally-based community envisioned by the project.
MC COP & MCTAC Fall EHR In-Person Events
In October 2019, the Managed Care Technical Assistance Center (MCTAC) and the Managed Care Community of Practice (MC-COP) hosted Electronic Solutions Vendor Fairs in Albany, Rochester, and NYC. These fairs were half-day networking events aimed to allow BH and I/DD providers to engage with over 15 participating Electronic Health Record (EHR), Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and Electronic Billing Solution (EBS) vendors and their representatives. Eric Weiskopf, the HIT/HIE Senior Manager for NYS Office of Mental Health also presented on best practices and key considerations for selecting an EHR.
During this event, participants received information that included:
• a brief overview and background information of each participating EHR vendor
• basic information about each vendor's capabilities
• contact information for each participating EHR vendor

Training and technical assistance are now being offered to intellectual and developmental disability (I/DD) providers preparing to make the transition to Medicaid Managed Care.
As of January 1, 2020*, Community Habilitation services will be available under the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) Comprehensive 1915(c) Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Waiver and the Community First Choice Option (CFCO) in both the Fee for Service and Medicaid Managed Care delivery systems.**
To assist I/DD service providers with this transition, the Managed Care Community of Practice (MC-COP) is partnering with the OPWDD and the Department of Health by offering a series of web-based and in-person trainings. In April 2019, in-person trainings offering technical assistance to providers on the transition were held in Albany, NYC and Rochester. MCCOP is pleased to provide condensed recordings of the materials presented at the CFCO in person trainings here.
*Through an action in the final 2019-2020 State Budget, the transition to CFCO was moved from July 1 , 2019 to January 1, 2020.

**Through CFCO, New York State is expanding access and availability by offering some services and supports that have, until now, only been available through waivers. With the inclusion of Community Habilitation within CFCO, an individual will receive Community Habilitation as a CFCO State Plan Service beginning July 1 if:
-
They are income-eligible under regular Medicaid rules;
-
They do not self-direct their own Community Habilitation Services with budget authority (i.e. have a self-direction budget); and
-
They do not live in a provider-owned or controlled residence.
Individuals not meeting these criteria will continue to receive Community Habilitation as a 1915(c) HCBS Waiver service.
